Church Street Backpackers

SPG was engaged by GWBH Partnership in 2007 as the planning consultant for the development of a commercial building in central Queenstown.

The overall architectural design approach for the buildings was to promote a consistent theme throughout the development with the incorporation of modern and traditional materials and elements into the design.

While fitting into the Queenstown character, the proposed development promoted a distinctive sense of place with particular historic reference through the style of architecture proposed. A conscious effort to provide a built form that has strong architectural merit that respects the location of the site within central Queenstown.

Resource consent was obtained on a non-notified basis for the client.
