Te Wae Wae Bay, Southland

Takitimu Estate is a 19 allotment coastal subdivision that overlooks Te Wae Wae Bay on the Southland coast. 

The approach in creating this subdivision was to establish a high quality coastal residential subdivision that was respectful of the wider cultural and landscape qualities of Te Wae Wae Bay.

Significant emphasis was placed on native landscaping throughout the subdivision, combined with the development of a suite of building controls that promoted a modern New Zealand ‘bach’ architectural style.

SPG undertook a key role in obtaining the necessary resource consents from the Southland District Council.
