For more than 40 years, Harris Mountains Heli-Ski has guided skiers and boarders to the best snow and terrain New Zealand has to offer.
Harris Mountains Heli-Ski has access to hundreds of peaks in eleven legendary mountain ranges from Queenstown Lakes to Mt Cook – more territory than any other operator. From gentle rolling slopes, perfect for backcountry first-timers, to snowy bowls, challenging chutes and steep lines for the more experienced, they have terrain suitable for most ability levels.
SPG has worked alongside Harris Mountains Heli-Ski for approximately twelve years and has obtained long-term Department of Conservation Concessions to exclusive heli-ski blocks in Queenstown, Wanaka, and Mackenzie/Mt Cook.
Similarly, SPG has obtained Recreation Permits for Harris Mountains Heli-Ski to offer their products on some of the country's most outstanding High Country Pastoral Lease properties in the Queenstown Lakes and Mackenzie Districts. Examples include terrain on Coronet Peak, Soho, and Mototapu Stations.
SPG has also sought and successfully obtained resource consent for heli-skiing as a ‘commercial recreation activity’ under the Queenstown Lakes Operative District Plan to authorize the helicopter activity and commercial heli-ski groups in these remote back-country areas.
