Ski Field

SPG has worked with the local ski field operators NZSki Limited and Cardrona Alpine Resort Limited in the Queenstown Lakes District for approximately thirteen years. Our expertise has assisted these operators in gaining resource consents and where necessary, Department of Conservation Concessions, for the establishment of chairlifts, base buildings, car park expansions, and terrain and infrastructure development in the Ski Area Sub-Zones.

The planning processes generally require collaboration with experts in ecology, hydrology, civil and geotechnical engineering to prepare comprehensive applications that address all the relevant matters assessed by the Queenstown Lakes District Council and Department of Conservation.

With excellent relationships with the other key consultants and our knowledge of the assessment criteria, we have been able to gain the ski field operators tens of successful resource consent and Concession decisions for the re-development of some of the country’s best ski fields.

Cardrona Alpine Resort

SPG has worked with Cardrona Alpine Resort for approximately eight years as they have undertaken significant upgrades of the resort including; base building alterations, construction of the Willow Basin chairlift and terrain modification, the McDougal’s chondola, and the installation of wastewater infrastructure to link the resort to the reticulated wastewater network in Cardrona Valley.
