Te Anau Helicopter Services Limited
Te Anau Helicopter Services Ltd is owned and operated by Gaven and Jennie Burgess. After years of flying for other company's they took the leap to go out on their own in 2014. Located at the Te Anau Manapouri Airport they are in a prime location to showcase Fiordland.
In 2020, Te Anau Helicopter Services Ltd purchased Milford Helicopters - the only helicopter company to be based at Milford Sound. As part of the company purchase and assignment of the Department of Conservation Concession’s to Te Anau Helicopters Ltd, it was found that a new lease was required from the Department of Conservation for the heli-base at Milford Sound
SPG prepared the Concession application for the lease and oversaw its processing by the Department of Conservation. SPG worked closely with Gaven as the application progressed on an arduous two year journey of public notification, treaty partner consultation (between DOC and Ngai Tahu), and dealing with the notification of the Milford Opportunities Project.
Ultimately, SPG were successful in gaining a medium term lease from the Department of Conservation for the continued use of the Milford helicopter base.
